Big Bang TOP Excluded From Squid Game Season 2 Promo Materials: Fans Are Asking
Controversy over the Absence of TOP
Former Big Bang member T.O.P. is not featured in promotional materials for Squid Game 's second season.
As Netflix prepares for the launch of the second season of 'Squid Game' scheduled for December 26, the absence of TOP (Choi Seung Hyun) in the second main poster and official cast list raises questions, despite previous announcements of his participation.
On November 27, Netflix unveiled the main poster for season 2 of 'Squid Game', showing actor Lee Jung Jae leading a group of contestants racing towards an unknown destination.
However, TOP's face does not appear among the participants. Additionally, the cast list includes Im Si Wan, Kang Ha Neul, Lee Jin Wook, Park Sung Hoon, Yang Dong Geun, Kang Ae Shim, and Jo Yu Ri, but Choi Seung Hyun's name is missing.
The full cast list, which also includes Lee Jung Jae, Lee Byung Hun, Wi Ha Joon, Park Gyu Young, Lee Seo Hwan, Chae Gook Hee, Lee Da Wit, Noh Jae Won, Won Ji An, and Gong Yoo, also omits T.O.P.
Enlisted as a conscript police officer in February 2017, it was revealed during his service that he had used marijuana in 2016, which earned him a 10-month prison sentence with a 2-year suspension. In June 2022, he officially left Big Bang.
Currently on hiatus for self-reflection, TOP recently teased a possible solo return. When a fan asked on social media, "DOOM DADA 2.0 WHEN?" he replied, "2025," hinting at the follow-up to his 2013 solo album, ' DOOM DADA '.
'Squid Game' Season 2 promises an intense plot, focusing on the rivalry between Gi Hun (played by Lee Jung Jae), who returns to seek revenge by joining the games again, and the Frontman (played by Lee Byung Hun), with the deadly games restarting.
What is your opinion on the omission of TOP?
