BLACKPINK Rosé Expresses Support for NewJeans Amid Tensions with HYBE
Rosé de BLACKPINK soutient NewJeans!
Rosé, a member of the famous group BLACKPINK, was recently interviewed by i-D magazine on a range of topics including her solo career, personal life, and her latest album. While staying in Los Angeles to work on her music, Rosé shared her personal experiences and the challenges she faces.
"I was moving from hotels to Airbnbs, and it was really lonely. It's funny how I chose to forget the negative times—the many nights I cried myself to sleep. It's like I formed a toxic relationship with music, because I'm obsessed with it, and sometimes it doesn't work out, but I need it in my life," she shared.
The interview also addressed a hot topic in the K-pop industry: the recent revolt of NewJeans against HYBE. When asked about her thoughts on the situation, Rosé shook her head before replying: "I want to talk about positive things. I really love those girls."
The conflict between NewJeans and HYBE began in April, when HYBE launched an internal audit of ADOR, their subsidiary label previously led by Min Hee Jin. The audit alleged that Min Hee Jin was attempting to take full control of ADOR. The conflict continued until Min Hee Jin was officially removed as CEO of ADOR in August. In response, the NewJeans members held a surprise YouTube livestream, issuing an ultimatum to HYBE and demanding Min Hee Jin be reinstated as CEO.
