Originally, the group Seventeen was to consist of 17 trainees. However, 4 of the 17 trainees left the formation until the official creation of the group. The name of the group remains justified by the fact that there are 13 members who make up 3 units and represent a team. They compose 3 units, a Hip-Hop, a Vocal and a Performance which allows them to work more simply according to their performances. Moreover Seventeen is considered as one of the only group whose members contributed to the composition and the production of each title, but also for the creation and the realization of the choreographies.

Seventeen: a KPOP group that continues to expand

It was on February 14, 2016 at the end of the concert that the leader of the group S.Coups revealed the official name of the fandom. These are CARATs. “We have an announcement. You make us shine so bright. So you will now be our Carats”

The band's official colors were unveiled on October 6, 2016, via the official Twitter account. The colors chosen are Rose Quartz and Serenity

The official lightstick was unveiled on February 3, 2017 by the Pledis label. The Carat Bong is a white lightstik, whose bulb represents a Rose Quartz gem, embedded in a Serenity color base.

On July 29, 2019, the Seventeen group presents the official lightstick in a new 2.0 light.
