Suzy opts for a cosmetic procedure to remove a pigment spot near the iris
Aesthetic Transformation for Suzy!
Well-known singer Suzy recently underwent cosmetic eye surgery.
At a recent event for Celine's flagship store, Suzy's bright, clear eyes attracted much interest. A mole-like spot near her iris, which had been visible for years, has disappeared significantly.
Media reports indicated that Suzy underwent a procedure to remove a conjunctival nevus, a pigmented spot on the sclera caused by an overproduction and accumulation of melanin cells. These spots often develop around the iris and are usually acquired over time.
Conjunctival nevi are more common in Asians, who have relatively higher melanin cell activity compared to other populations. In South Korea, it is estimated that about one in 2,500 people are affected by this condition.
Although conjunctival moles rarely pose any risks to eye health, such as vision problems or discomfort, many people choose to have them removed for cosmetic reasons. The removal process is simple and can be completed in 5 to 10 minutes using a laser or chemical peel.
Factors such as prolonged contact lens use, UV exposure, wind, fine dust, and eye trauma can contribute to the formation of these spots. Experts recommend avoiding frequent eye rubbing and using protective eyewear to minimize the risks.
