Super Junior's Yesung recently expressed his dissatisfaction with SM Entertainment's 30th anniversary concert, 'SMTOWN LIVE 2025 SEOUL' . Through the fan communication platform Bubble , Yesung shared that he has mixed feelings about the event.

He said: “Although this is an event organized by the company I’ve been with for over 20 years, I’ll try to participate as much as possible, but I didn’t really get to contribute to the music on the album.” He added: “I’m tired of talking about the cold treatment given to band tracks and I don’t want to discuss it anymore. I’ll just focus on my concerts, thank you for your understanding.”

Yesung joins SM artists like Girls' Generation's Taeyeon and Red Velvet's Wendy who have also expressed dissatisfaction with the concert's organization.

SM Entertainment plans to hold the event on January 11 and 12 at the Gocheok Sky Dome in Seoul. However, it has been surrounded by controversy as key artists like Taeyeon and Wendy will not be performing.

Wendy commented on her absence, saying, “Discussions with the company took place over a month ago, but the announcement was only made today. I feel sorry for the ReVeluvs (Red Velvet fandom) who were expecting a performance from all five members.”

Taeyeon also shared her disappointment, saying, “I was looking forward to performing, ready to do two or three songs, and I had informed the company. But in the end, they didn't prepare anything for me, so I can't perform at all. It's not because I didn't want to or wasn't motivated.”

She added, “I just want to give my best on stage because it means a lot to me. But they haven’t supported me, which makes me seriously wonder what’s going on. I’m sharing this because I don’t want SONE (Girls’ Generation fandom) to misunderstand me.”

Despite these absences, the concert will feature performances from various SM artists, including Kangta, BoA, TVXQ, Super Junior, Girls' Generation's Hyoyeon, SHINee's Key and Minho, EXO's Suho and Chanyeol, Red Velvet members, NCT 127, NCT DREAM, WayV, aespa, RIIZE, NCT WISH, nævis, and Raiden.
