South Korean actress Han So Hee was recently at the center of a surprising revelation regarding her real age, following the discovery of property registration documents.

On October 31, Han So Hee's agency 9ato Entertainment confirmed to Newsen that the actress was born in 1993. This confirmation came to clarify the family circumstances that led to the use of 1994 as her official birth year.

“When she was supposed to enter fourth grade, her mother’s legal troubles forced her to move to Ulsan. She spent a year at home without going to school, and after her mother was incarcerated, she returned to Wonju and re-enrolled in fourth grade,” the agency said, explaining why Han So Hee had to repeat a grade due to her mother’s cheating accusations.

Han So Hee's age revelation was brought to light by her property registrations. In August, it was revealed that she had purchased a luxury penthouse at Arcadia Signature in Achun-dong, Guri City, Gyeonggi Province for 5.24 billion KRW (approximately 3.9 million USD). The penthouse, where she became neighbors with celebrities such as Hyun Bin, Son Ye Jin, Oh Yeon Seo, and soccer player Kim Min Jae, gained public attention after a netizen obtained Han So Hee's real estate registration certificate.

Property registration certificates are public documents accessible to everyone, even those who are not owners. They can be easily viewed and issued online, and the owner cannot see who has accessed the document.

Meanwhile, Han So Hee’s mother was recently convicted and imprisoned for running an illegal gambling ring. Han So Hee’s agency responded by stating, “The matters involving Han So Hee’s mother are strictly her personal affairs. Han So Hee herself learned about it through the news and is devastated. We would like to clarify that this incident is entirely independent of the actress, as it was an independent action by her mother. We apologize for sharing disturbing personal news unrelated to Han So Hee’s work.”

Four years ago, amid a debt controversy involving her mother, Han So Hee revealed, “Since my parents divorced when I was five years old, I was raised by my grandmother and had no contact with my mother, but I still paid off her debts,” sharing a glimpse into her difficult family background.
