Mediation Recommended in Former ADOR Employee's Defamation Lawsuit Against Min Hee Jin
ADOR case: Mediation requested for defamation trial
The 51st Civil Division of the Seoul Western District Court has sent the defamation lawsuit between former ADOR CEO Min Hee Jin and a former ADOR employee identified only by the letter 'A' to mediation, suggesting an amicable resolution rather than a traditional trial.
Last August, 'A' filed a defamation lawsuit against Min Hee Jin, seeking damages of 100 million KRW (approximately $70,000 USD). 'A', who had reported a case of sexual harassment that occurred at ADOR, accused Min Hee Jin of trying to cover up the case. Later, in several press releases, Min Hee Jin disclosed details of the case that 'A' believed violated the Personal Information Protection Act. In addition to suing Min Hee Jin for defamation and making false statements, 'A' also reported former ADOR vice president 'B', who was accused of harassment, to the Seoul Western District Labor and Employment Department for unfair practices.
In September, the court upheld 'A's' request for interim sequestration of Min Hee Jin's assets in the defamation lawsuit. This means that if 'A' wins the lawsuit and Min Hee Jin fails to pay the damages, the court has the right to seize Min Hee Jin's assets.
