Recently, former Wanna One member Lai Kuan Lin was seen at an event hosted by the Taiwan Presidential Office. He attended as a representative of Taiwan's cultural sector, which attracted considerable attention as he sat among prominent political figures, including State Council Taiwan Affairs Director Song Tao and other politicians.

Lai Kuan Lin rose to fame in 2017 after finishing seventh on the second season of Mnet's 'Produce 101', and later debuted with the group Wanna One. Despite the group's short-lived nature, Wanna One released several hit songs such as "Energetic," "Boomerang," "Burn It Up," and "Light," and achieved immense popularity, rivaling big-name groups like BTS and Seventeen. After the group disbanded in 2019, the hype for a possible reunion continues among K-pop fans.

After Wanna One, Lai Kuan Lin returned to Cube Entertainment, but in 2019, he filed a lawsuit to terminate his exclusive contract. He won the lawsuit, upholding the invalidity of his contract, and subsequently began solo activities in Chinese-speaking regions. In 2019, he was also at the center of controversy when he publicly supported the Hong Kong police during the pro-democracy protests and participated in China's National Day celebrations.

Later, in 2021, he branched out into filmmaking, releasing the short film 'Em Chu Em Nie Zi Bo (Winter & Spring are Fighting)'. However, in June of the same year, he unexpectedly announced his official retirement from the entertainment industry, stating, "After much consideration, I have decided to change my career path," and entrusted the management of his official account to his team.
