Court Denies Reinstatement of Min Hee Jin as ADOR CEO: Korean Netizens React
Tensions at ADOR
On October 29, the Seoul Central District Court rejected Min Hee Jin's request to be reinstated as ADOR's CEO. The decision followed a hearing on October 11 regarding an injunction filed by Min Hee Jin on September 13, which sought a mandatory vote by ADOR's board of directors in favor of her return.
Min Hee Jin filed the injunction after ADOR's board of directors removed her from her CEO role in August, naming HYBE's human resources chief Kim Joo Young as her successor.
In her fight to regain her position, Min Hee Jin argued that her ouster was in violation of her shareholders' agreement with HYBE and contradicted a previous court ruling on May 30 that limited the board's voting rights to remove her.
In response to Min Hee Jin's concerns, ADOR's board voted on October 17 to extend her term as lead producer, originally scheduled to end on November 1, in an effort to find a compromise.
Reactions from Korean netizens were mixed, with some expressing support for Min Hee Jin and others suggesting that it would be better for her to leave HYBE. Comments ranged from encouragement to suggestions to sue HYBE, reflecting a diversity of opinions on the situation.
