You Quiz on the Block sparks controversy by removing Big Bang's TOP from clips
Controversy: TOP erased from the show?
On October 30, G-Dragon was a guest on tvN's " You Quiz on the Block ," where he discussed his career and previewed his new solo single, marking his return after a seven-year hiatus.
During the show, G-Dragon shared a preview of his track " POWER " and spoke openly about his eleven years of training, as well as the unjustified accusations of drug use he faced, offering an introspective look at his life.
G-Dragon talked about Big Bang's 20th anniversary preparations and the group's comeback plans, sparking excitement among fans. However, the old Big Bang clips aired during the show excluded former members T.O.P. and Seungri, focusing only on G-Dragon, Daesung, and Taeyang.
The music videos only featured these three members in performance clips, award speeches, and even music videos, with T.O.P. and Seungri being notably absent. In particular, T.O.P.'s scenes in the "Haru Haru" music video were replaced with a parody of the show Infinite Challenge where Yoo Jae Suk played the role of T.O.P.
After being embroiled in the "Burning Sun" scandal, Seungri, who was released from prison last year, has disappeared from the entertainment industry. T.O.P., who announced his voluntary retirement after a marijuana-related incident, will be making his comeback in December for Netflix's "Squid Game Season 2," drawing further attention to his omission from "You Quiz on the Block."
News of TOP's return to acting sparked rumors and speculation, with some wondering if his comeback was "arranged by connections." Meanwhile, G-Dragon has focused on fighting drugs, establishing the "Just Peace Foundation." In contrast, TOP's continued interactions with online critics have fueled public discontent.
Recently, G-Dragon appeared alongside Taeyang to perform "Good Boy," joined by Daesung, giving fans a glimpse of a full Big Bang lineup and raising hopes for a potential comeback from the group.
