Jessi at the police station for investigation into her fan's attacker: details of the incident
Jessi in Defense of Her Fan
Jessi was spotted at the Gangnam Police Station in Seoul today. According to reports on October 16, the rapper was questioned by the police to investigate the case of one of her fans being assaulted. As previously mentioned, a fan who asked Jessi for a photo was assaulted by a member of her entourage, as seen in CCTV footage.
Jessi arrived at the police station around 10:05 p.m. KST and told reporters, “I hope they quickly find the person who hit him and that he will be punished. I will tell everything I know.” When asked if she had seen the attacker before the day of the incident, Jessi replied, “I saw him for the first time.” When asked what she wanted to say to the victim, she said, “I am really sorry.”
Jessi's lawyer also confirmed, "It is true that she saw the attacker for the first time that day, and we will provide explanations after the investigation." As reported, a fan, who was also a minor, had approached Jessi's group to ask for a photo but was assaulted by a man identified as A, who was near Jessie, in the early hours of September 29 in Apgujeong-dong, Gangnam. CCTV footage shows Jessi's group trying to stop attacker A, but Jessi left the scene shortly after, raising suspicions that she was unaware of the fan being assaulted by a member of her entourage.
After the police were notified, Jessi was found at a nearby bar, but A was apparently not with her. The police questioned Jessi's entourage at the bar about A's whereabouts, but they claimed not to know. Earlier, the police had summoned producer B, a close associate of Jessi, for questioning regarding the assault charges. He is known to be a friend of A. As the incident came to light, Jessi and three others were accused of assault by the victim. Following this, a netizen reported them for aiding and abetting.
Jessi has since apologized for the incident, but reactions from netizens remain negative regarding the rapper's handling of the incident.
