JY Park Wants His Daughters To Enter The Music Industry, But Only If They Have The "ggi"
An Indispensable Gift for Music
Singer and entrepreneur JY Park , better known as JYP , who heads his namesake entertainment company, recently shared his thoughts on encouraging his daughters to follow in his footsteps in the music industry.
JY Park says it's one of the best jobs in the world and he would be totally supportive, but on one condition: they must have the necessary talent .
He clarifies that this star quality and talent are innate and cannot be compensated for by hard work alone, although the latter is essential to fully realize the potential.
In Korean media, this famous 'X factor' or 'je ne sais quoi' is often referred to as ' ggi (끼)', used to describe an inherent quality that allows one to dominate the stage, captivate attention, and showcase one's talents, beyond technical skills and appearance.
JY Park hopes his daughters will be inclined towards music and stresses that they should join his entertainment agency if they enter the music industry, as he claims that JYP is the most conservative company in the field.
